🚧 BWCA Building Driveway Entrance Alert

Our normal driveway entrance will be closed for the next couple of weeks due to a culvert replacement.

During this time, please use the exit driveway as BOTH the entrance and exit. Please use extra caution when entering and leaving, and be careful not to block both sides of the driveway, as vehicles will be entering and exiting through the same area.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while this work is completed!

Supportive Housing and Homeless Services

Supportive Housing and Homeless Services programs aim to empower individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Our agency offers a variety of programs that assist individuals and families in obtaining and/or maintaining housing as quickly as possible using the Housing First model.

Homeless Prevention Program

The Homeless Prevention program actively offers the necessary assistance to prevent individuals or families from moving into an emergency shelter or becoming homeless by assisting them with rent arrears to prevent eviction.

Rapid Rehousing Program

The Rapid Rehousing program actively assists individuals and families who are literally homeless or in emergency shelters by solving the practical and immediate challenges of obtaining permanent housing.

Permanent Supportive Housing Program

The Permanent Supportive Housing program assists individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions who are experiencing homelessness in securing stable, permanent housing, and provides various services to support them in maintaining their housing long-term.

Street Outreach Program

The Street Outreach Program directly provides essential services that are necessary to reach unsheltered people experiencing homelessness. Its primary goal is to aid in securing housing, accessing emergency shelter, and obtaining critical services such as urgent or non-facility-based care.

Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program

Through a grant from the City of Port Huron, BWCA helps low-income households who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This program provides financial assistance to help with the costs needed to secure safe, permanent housing.
