State of Michigan COVID Emergency Rental Assistance

The State of Michigan’s COVID Emergency Rental Assistance Program is designed to keep Michigan residents who fell behind on their rent and utilities during the COVID-19 pandemic in their homes. The program utilizes a collaborative community process to expedite rental and utility assistance to COVID-19 affected tenants and their landlords.  Should you need assistance with your rent or utilities residents will need to go to the CERA website:  https://www.michigan.gov/mshda/0,4641,7-141-5555-533463--,00.html 
 

Please read the information for the new eviction program to see if you qualify.  If qualify you can fill out the tenant application on that page and email that with all the required documents listed (email them all together) to hara@bwcaa.org .  You will then need to inform your landlord that you have applied for CERA assistance and direct them to the website to complete the landlord application.  BWCA HARA Staff can be reached at 810-982-8541 or hara@bwcaa.org
