Helping People. Changing Lives.

Energy Savings. Safer Homes. Stronger Communities.

BWCA’s Weatherization Assistance Program helps income‑qualified households in St. Clair County reduce energy bills, improve comfort, and create healthier living environments — all at no cost to the homeowner. Every home receives a customized plan designed by certified energy professionals and completed by licensed, insured contractors.

What Weatherization Can Do for Your Home

Our team evaluates your home from attic to basement and installs improvements that make a real difference in comfort and energy use. Depending on your home’s needs, services may include:

 • High‑quality insulation for attics, walls, and crawlspaces

• Smoke and carbon monoxide detector evaluation

• Furnace and water heater testing, repair, or possible replacement

• Health and safety checks to ensure your home is safe and efficient

These upgrades help lower utility bills, reduce drafts, improve indoor air quality, and extend the life of your home’s mechanical systems.

Who Qualifies?

You may be eligible if:

• Your household meets current federal income guidelines

• Your home has not been weatherized through this program within the last 15 years

• You are a St. Clair County resident

Please note: Weatherization is a multi‑step process and may take several months to complete. We require access to the whole home including basement, crawlspace, and attics.  Income limits change annually — contact BWCA for the most up‑to‑date information.
