Homebuyer Education Class
Our Homebuyer Education class walks you through the process of homeownership from start to finish. Topics covered during the class include loan products, credit requirements, the pros and cons of purchasing, what to expect, home inspections, fair housing, and protecting your investment.Â
This class fulfills the Homebuyer Education requirement for down payment assistance through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and the City of Port Huron (Urban Pioneer+), as well as mortgage loans through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA.) We do not determine eligibility for these programs.Â
This class is a MSHDA Key to Own requirement.
This FREE class is open to residents of St. Clair, Sanilac, Huron, Lapeer, Tuscola, and Macomb counties. Pre-registration is required.Â
A self-paced online class is available through https://www.ehomeamerica.org/bwcaa. This option offers a convenient way to obtain a Homebuyer Education certificate from home. There is a $100.00 charge for this option.
