Homebuyer Education Class

Our Homebuyer Education class walks you through the process of homeownership from start to finish. Topics covered during the class include but are not limited to the following: types of home loans, credit requirements, determining affordability, what costs to expect, the importance of receiving a home inspection, mortgage terms, working with a realtor, budgeting, saving, goal setting, protecting your investment, fair housing, and much more!

This class fulfills the Homebuyer Education requirement for possible down payment assistance through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and the City of Port Huron (Urban Pioneer+), and mortgage loans through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA.) We do not determine eligibility for these programs.

There is a $99.00 charge for this option. Please contact the Asset Development Department if the online class is unaffordable for you.
