Blue Water Community Action has a job opening for a full-time Finance & Compliance Manager.

 JOB TITLE:            Finance & Compliance Manager

PROGRAM:             Administration

SUPERVISOR:        Executive Director

STATUS:                   Manager, Non-Exempt

WAGES:                   $18.55 – $34.30 per hour

 

The Finance & Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial and compliance reporting, monitoring agency compliance with applicable requirements, and supervising assigned staff and department functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – JOB SPECIFIC

  1. Finance: Oversee the day-to-day financial reporting functions of the agency and ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and maintained in accordance with agency, funding, regulatory, state, and federal requirements.
  2. Reporting: Prepare and/or oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and compliance reports to funders, state, federal, and local agencies. Prepare monthly financial statements and other financial reports for the Board of Directors and others as needed.
  3. Compliance: Monitor agency compliance with contractual, funding, regulatory, state, and federal requirements. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure required reports, schedules, and other compliance requirements are completed timely.
  4. Supervise: Supervise, support, back up and evaluate assigned staff to ensure program requirements are followed and met as well as oversee the day-to-day operations.
  5. Internal Monitoring: Review and analyze financial and program-related reports to identify discrepancies, concerns, or areas requiring adjustments and correct/make adjustments with journal entries as needed.
  6. Audit: Coordinate with audit firm to prepare and complete annual financial audit. Assist with completion of all annual schedules and preliminary financial statements.
  7. Cash Receipts and Banking: Oversee cash receipt and banking functions, including preparation of bank deposits, recording of cash receipts, and monthly bank reconciliations. Ensure the agency has sufficient funds to cover checks and payroll.
  8. Marketing: Create materials to reach potential clients for services to ensure funding and service numbers are met.
  9. Other: Additional duties as assigned.

  6. Teamwork: Effectively participate as a team member at multiple organizational levels and across departments.
  7. Goals: Understand and meet organizational goals/objectives related to position including agency strategic plan, ROMA plan, as well as taking on duties that are not related to position as supports for management staff/support staff to reach goals/objectives. Management: Team achieves program outcomes.
  8. Communication: Effectively communicate with other staff, clients, partners, and the public in a manner that is tactful, sensitive, and respectful. Demonstrate active listening. Demonstrates friendly, positive “can do” attitude. Oral and written communications are clear, concise and accurate. Keep team members informed and follow appropriate channels for communication.
  9. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of client and organizational information. Share information only with authorized personnel.
  10. Improvement: Continually improve skills through a variety of opportunities external and internal with particular attention to goals set related to improvement. Improve outcomes results of assessments related to job position, client outcomes, and organizational goals. Attend training opportunities as available.
  11. Compliance to Policy: Understand and comply with current organization, regulatory and funding policies and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
  2. Must be bondable.
  3. Experience in financial reporting, non-profit compliance or related experience required.
  4. Experience supervising staff and working with low-income individuals.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
