SANBORN GRATIOT MEMORIAL HOME TO HOST

BOAT RAFFLE KICK-OFF PARTY AT MCMORRAN PLACE

PORT HURON, Mich. – Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home of Port Huron, a nonprofit assisted living facility for low-income seniors, is hosting a Boat Raffle Kick-Off Party to celebrate its first major fundraising project of 2024.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at Casey’s on the Plaza (indoors) at McMorran Place in downtown Port Huron. Music, food and fun will be available. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free, but pre-registration is requested here: Sanborn Gratiot Boat Raffle Kick-Off Party Registration.

Earlier this year, SGMH began selling raffle tickets for a brand new 19.5-foot Sea Ray 190SPX. The boat comes with a trailer. This event is free of charge. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar. Boat raffle tickets will be available for purchase. Cost of raffle tickets is $100/each. Raffle ticket purchase not required to attend event. Only 5,000 raffle tickets will be sold. The boat will be on-site at the kick-off party, weather permitting.

The winning ticket will be drawn at an event at the Port Huron Yacht Club in July.

“An integral part of the Sanborn Gratiot mission is reserving space for residents who are unable to pay for services,” said Lisa Beedon, executive director of Blue Water Developmental Housing, Inc., the umbrella organization that manages operations at SGMH. “The funds raised by this raffle will help us meet that need and fulfill our mission.”

Beedon noted that Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home provides a place to live for residents of St. Clair County who might otherwise have nowhere to go.

“Donations from fundraisers like this one enable us to help those who are most vulnerable in our community,” said Beedon. “Your dollars make a direct impact on the care they receive.”

Tickets will be available for purchase at the kick-off party, or they can be purchased on the Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home website: Boat Raffle Ticket Purchase

Please visit the Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home website for more information about the nonprofit, and the Blue Water Developmental Housing, Inc. website for more information about the managing organization.

Since 1944, Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home has provided quality assisted living to lower income seniors, many of whom had no other housing alternative. Sanborn Home is the only “licensed home for the aged” in St. Clair County and the only senior residence with a mission to serve lower income individuals.

It is the mission of Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home to provide an affordable, comfortable, safe, assisted living home to the aging community while striving to maintain a high quality of life for our residents through social activities and family involvement.
