St. Clair County Health Department Hosting Free Breastfeeding, Health & Nutrition Event
The St. Clair County Health Department Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program staff is hosting a free Breastfeeding, Health & Nutrition Event on August 14, 2023 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, at the YMCA of the Blue Water Area, 1525 3rd Street, Port Huron. Open to the public.
Becki Hartman, WIC Program Nursing Supervisor stated, “Every August we celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness Month and are excited this year to promote the connection between breastfeeding and lifetime nutrition.” Hartman continued, “People of all ages are welcome to attend this fun afternoon full of resources for anyone interested in breastfeeding support, free health screenings, learning opportunities, kid’s activities, refreshments, vendor tables, and much more.”
Connect with a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor or Lactation Consultant, consult with a Car Seat Technician, learn about food safety and nutrition, enjoy a Fun Zone for kids, ask about mental health and wellness resources, link with a free maternal-infant home visiting program, tour the YMCA to learn about programs and financial assistance, enjoy refreshments, enter to win a free 1-month YMCA family membership and other valuable prizes, meet other great vendors, and much more!
